PLMAR Eyeing for Face to Face Classes in 2022

The Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Marikina is eyeing for face to face classes in 2022.

As the whole NCR was put on alert level 2, the chances of opening the schools and universities will be available, with that the Pamantasan is looking forward to opening limited face to face classes. The school administration and faculty have been planning on how to manage and the possible opening of classes safely and accordingly. To ensure everyone's safety, only fully vaccinated students that are allowed in the face to face set up, as well as professors are also needed to be fully vaccinated, following the Commission on Higher Education guidelines.

PLMAR Faculty President, Mr. Alexander De Luna said that the school has been planning and preparing for the possible opening of face to face classes, as well as the school and the teachers' preparedness for this. Students also have different opinions about the possibility of face to face classes next year, a first year nursing student said that it is favorable for her especially for health allied courses, while students from the College of Education said that "I'm still in doubt. Our experiences in online classes have revealed the competence (or incompetence) of the university's professors and administrators. Being prepared is not one of their strong suits.", he also added that he had a number of "no show" professors, unsympathetic and inconsiderate deans and administrators, and an inconvenient enrolling procedure. "Commencing face-to-face classes with such traits would only lead to turmoil and disadvantage for the students, particularly the working students. First and foremost, the school system needs revamping."

While many students have different opinions about the possibility of opening face to face classes again, we can't deny that learning is proven effective through an actual teaching and learning process where students and teachers could interact.
